Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel slammed local Cleveland sports radio host Tony Rizzo for coming after his time with the Browns recently.
Johnny Manziel’s time with the Cleveland Browns turned out to be an abject failure. ‘Johnny Football’ as he was known then was expected to help get the Browns out of their years-long stretch of mediocrity.
Instead, the quarterback had two disappointing seasons with the Browns, where he played just 15 games and won only two. No one looks back at his time with Browns fondly, least of all Manziel himself

Johnny Manziel wishes Browns went 0-16 next season, Tony Rizzo responds
In an appearance on the Nightcap show late last year with Chad Johnson and Shannon Sharpe, Johnny Manziel was asked about how well his former team, the Cleveland Browns, would do in the 2025 season.
Manziel didn’t mince his words at all, telling Sharpe and Johnson, “I’m rooting for 0-16 seasons, every season.”
This message didn’t sit right with Cleveland sports radio legend Tony Rizzo, who responded by asking where Manziel’s vitriol was coming from.
In a scathing rant against Manziel, Rizzo asked, “What did anyone do to you, except root for you to win?”

This caught the eye of Manziel, who took to X to respond in a scathing response to Rizzo, reminding him that the Cleveland media continues to dredge up his past failures for more negative headlines.
“Rizz, you stupid —-. These comments were made in October of last year. But of course, the Cleveland media have nothing to speak about… and you can only speak about losing so much to all of the people that listen to this trash a– show.
“My tenure in Cleveland was doomed by a lot more people than just me. I’ve taken plenty of responsibility for my failures in that building and in that city. By the way have you spoke to or about or 6th pick in the draft that year Justin Gilbert, lately?
“Or what about our all world coach that was hired Mike Pettine? Tom Brady couldn’t have won with our roster from 2015. Just move on, f— off and leave me out of this b——-.”
Manziel never made it back to the Browns or the NFL after the offseason of 2016, as his troubles off the field got the better of him.
Since then, the Browns have still struggled to impress, only reaching the playoffs once since Manziel’s departure.
