Chelsea fans are starting to feel hopeful about the club’s direction following the decision to name Liam Rosenior as their new manager.
The West London derby will see Calum McFarlane take charge from the touchline, while Rosenior watches on.
Having worked with Rosenior at Derby County, Wayne Rooney has spoken highly of the new boss. The 41-year-old has already been introduced to the squad and is set to lead them in the upcoming FA Cup tie against Charlton.
Since Todd Boehly became owner, Chelsea have already cycled through four managers, and there will be pressure from supporters for this fifth appointment to turn into a long-term fit.
John Terry urges Todd Boehly to support Liam Rosenior in the transfer market

Rosenior has acknowledged that the timing of his appointment is not perfect, but arriving during a transfer window could work in his favour.
John Terry has already spoken up, urging Boehly and the club’s board to back Rosenior in the transfer window and give him a proper chance to succeed at Stamford Bridge.
“I’d like to wish him all the very best. You have an opportunity to come into the building. The players, everyone’s going to be looking from a football perspective, all about results,” he said on TikTok.
“January transfer window coming up. Hopefully the board and the owners are going to back him and give him some money to go in the transfer market and bring some players in.”
Reports suggest that Rosenior requested certain guarantees regarding January transfers during his initial discussions with Chelsea before accepting the job.
Todd Boehly cannot afford a repeat of past mistakes in the market
Looking back at the list of players signed under Maresca, it is clear that many fell short of expectations despite his achievements.
The arrivals of Estevao Willian and Joao Pedro were positives, but given Chelsea’s return to the Champions League and their Club World Cup win, there was an expectation for more substantial backing in the summer window.
BlueCo maintain that managers should be able to make do with what they have, but results up to this point suggest that approach has not been working.
