John Lundstram has departed Rangers this summer after a three-year spell to join Turkish side Trabzonspor as a free agent.
Rangers sent an emphatic message about their squad rebuild this summer after announcing that John Lundstram, Ryan Jack, Borna Barisic, Kemar Roofe and Jon McLaughlin would all leave this summer when their contracts expired.
The Glasgow giants narrowly missed out on the Scottish Premiership title last season with arch-rivals Celtic pipping them to the honour.
But Rangers significantly improved under Philippe Clement after the Belgian joined the club as manager in October 2023.
Lundstram will leave a big hole in the Rangers midfield with the 30-year-old making 53 appearances across all competitions for the club last season.

John Lundstram discusses Rangers exit
With his Rangers deal expired, Lundstram has signed for Turkish side Trabzonspor and he was met with a warm reception after landing in the country.
As per Turkish outlet Fotomac, Lundstram explained that conversations took place with teammates Borna Barisic and Ridvan Yilmaz before completing his switch to Trabzonspor.
“I have Borna to thank as he got the call about Trabzonspor and he told me the manager really liked me and would like to sign me,” Lundstram said.
“Straight away, I spoke to my wife and called my agent very fast to say let’s go.
“I’m very good friends with Ridvan Yilmaz so we spoke lots about Turkey even before the interest from Trabzonspor. I wanted to know about the culture and what the fans are like.
“When I spoke to Ridvan he said you’d love the place.”

Lundstram will be joining Barisic at the Turkish club after they were both released from Ibrox.
The Scottish side will now have plenty of work to do to source a replacement for Lundstram ahead of their crucial Champions League qualifier later this summer.
