The Everton ace has received heavy criticism so far this season.

Joey Barton shared his opinion on why Ashely Williams is struggling to find his best form for Everton, when writing his regular column for French publication L’Equipe.
The 33-year-old has failed to replicate the fine form that he showed on a consistent basis for the Toffees last term, with many fans and pundits alike suggesting that he could be over the hill as a professional footballer.
The Blues’ struggles as a team certainly haven’t helped the former Swansea City man, with no protection being provided for the back four whatsoever.
Ashley Williams of Everton
Everton currently sit precariously in 18th position in the Premier League table, after their paltry return of just eight points from their opening 10 league games, and they have conceded 20 goals thus far – the joint worst tally in the top flight.
The experienced Welshman has certainly played his part in that poor defensive record, but surely not everything can be blamed on him.
And Barton delivered his verdict on why Williams is having such a hard time at the moment, when writing his column for L’Equipe:
“I have often played against him and he isn’t a nervous player, but he’s clearly been affected by the bad results and the treatment that the fans have for him.”
