Everton head to France to take on Lyon in the Europa League tomorrow.

Charlie Nicholas predicted a 'torrid night' for the Toffees against Lyon in the Europa League tomorrow night, when writing his regular prediction column for Sporting Life.

Everton have started their 2017/18 campaign in miserable fashion, both domestically and on the continent, and currently sit in 18th position in the Premier League table.

They are also rock-bottom of Group E in the Europa League, following a paltry return of just one point from their opening three games.

Tomorrow night's clash with the Ligue 1 side is a must win game for the Blues, where a defeat could put qualification to the next stage of the competition beyond them.

And Nicholas believes that will be a very real possibility at the Groupama Stadium tomorrow night, suggesting that the Merseyside outfit might just be best served in writing the game off, when writing his regular column for Sporting Life:

"Well the tough games just keep coming at Everton and I think this is just one they'll have to write off. It's tough to know who he is going to play and he (Unsworth) might as well throw a few more youngsters in here, leaving Wayne Rooney and company at home to get them ready for the weekend. Memphis Depay is a show pony but these are the sort of games where he likes to show his ability, and I think Nabil Fekir and Mariano Diaz will give the Toffees a torrid night."

Interim boss David Unsworth has really struggled to galvanise his side in the two games that he has been in charge of thus far, so he might just field a strong team tomorrow night, as he looks to give his own chances of earning the job on a full-time basis a boost.
