Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock is keen on a return to Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United, according to The Chronicle.
What’s the story?
Willock spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle from Arsenal.
The 21-year-old midfielder scored eight goals in 14 Premier League appearances for the Magpies.
Willock played a big role in Newcastle staving off the dreaded drop to the Championship.
Newcastle want Willock back at the club, according to The Chronicle.
The player himself is claimed to be ‘keen’ on a return to St. James’ Park to play for Bruce and Newcastle.
Newcastle are the ‘preferred option’ of Willock if Arsenal decide to send him out on loan again this summer.

Could a Newcastle transfer happen?
Newcastle are really keen on Willock, and if the player wants a move, then a transfer could happen.
Of course, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could want to keep the midfielder in his squad, but the youngster may not be happy just warming the substitutes’ bench at the Emirates Stadium.
Having tasted regular first-team football in the Premier League, Willock – described as “an amazing player” by Newcastle winger Allan Saint-Maximin on Stadium Astro in May 2021 – will surely not want to become a bit-part player.
