According to 90min, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could decide to keep reported Newcastle United target Joe Willock at the club.
What’s the report?
It has been reported that Arsenal have not ruled out selling Willock, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle.
However, Arsenal manager Arteta is keen to take a closer look at the midfielder in pre-season.
If the 21-year-old impresses the Spaniard in pre-season, then he could well stay at the Emirates Stadium.
Newcastle United interest
Willock did well during his loan spell at Newcastle and helped the Magpies stave off the dreaded drop to the Championship at the end of last season.
The youngster scored eight goals in 11 Premier League starts for the Magpies.
The Chronicle reported last month that the Magpies are increasingly confident that Arsenal will do a deal with them regarding Willock, described as “an amazing player” by Newcastle winger Allan Saint-Maximin on Stadium Astro in May 2021.

Uncertain future
Willock flourished under Newcastle manager Steve Bruce.
The midfielder played regularly at the Magpies, and he is likely to do the same if he returns to St. James’ Park.
However, Willock is only 21, and it is too early to say that he does not have a long-term future at the Gunners.
Pre-season is going to be big for the young Englishman.
