Joe Rogan will be watching from Octagon-side as the UFC light heavyweight title finds a new owner this Saturday night.
The main event of UFC 327 in Miami will see Pereira’s successor crowned, with the Brazilian preparing to debut at heavyweight in June.
Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg are set to face off for the soon-to-be vacant 205-pound title inside the Kaseya Center.
The matchup brings together two distinct striking backgrounds, and Rogan is interested in seeing how the Kiwi challenger handles Prochazka’s unpredictable style.

Rogan will be part of the usual commentary team, joining Daniel Cormier and Jon Anik for the event.
Given Prochazka’s reputation for wild fights, fans are expecting plenty of action in the main event.
On a recent episode of his podcast, the longtime commentator gave his take on what Ulberg is up against if he wants to claim the title.
“If you’re looking at it on paper, if you just watch their movements, Ulberg is really fast, he’s really accurate,” Rogan said. “And he’s slick, and he’s a big, tall with great skills.
“Jiri creates chaos, and in that chaos, you don’t know exactly how somebody’s gonna respond when the guy’s still there when you crack him, and he’s all over you, doing wild.
“He’s a maniac, but he’s not faking it,” Rogan continued. “That’s how that dude really lives. He really does hit trees in the woods…does all the hard-style Japanese s—, spends time in the woods on his own.
“That dude takes you to hell…(but) Ulberg’s a big guy.”
A lot has changed since then. The City Kickboxing fighter has shown a far more controlled approach over time. That change has helped him build an impressive nine-fight win streak featuring victories over Jan Blachowicz and Dominick Reyes.
Pereira was known for his patient fighting style during his time at 205 pounds. Prochazka compared Ulberg to ‘Poatan’ ahead of their meeting this weekend. Now just days away from another title shot, Prochazka will be eager not to repeat past mistakes as he chases two-time champion status on April 11th.
