Joe Rodon’s brother has given his instant reaction to the news of the Welsh defender’s return to Leeds United from Tottenham Hotspur.

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur have been busy so far in the transfer market and have just pulled off one of the signings of the summer with teenager Archie Gray moving to North London.

After Thomas Frank’s Brentford looked set to win the race for the teenager, Spurs swooped in at the 11th hour to sign the 19-year-old.

As part of the deal that will see Gray move to the Lilywhites, Welsh defender Joe Rodon, who spent last season on loan at Elland Road, will return to the club.

Rodon’s brother reacts to the news

Posting on his Instagram, Rodon’s brother, Sam, was delighted for the defender as he simply claimed: “Let’s goooo [sic].”

Rodon had a very successful spell at the Championship club last season and the deal will be a major coup for Daniel Farke’s side as they hope to return to the Premier League.

The Yorkshire side were 90 minutes away from returning to the Premier League but an Adam Armstrong goal for Southampton proved enough as it was Russell Martin’s side who returned to the top division of English football.

Last season the former Swansea City defender made 43 appearances in the Championship and proved to be one of Leeds’ most important players.

After seemingly becoming a fan favourite for The Whites, the Welsh defender will now continue his career in Yorkshire on a permanent deal.

Daniel Farke big fan of ‘warrior’ Rodon

Leeds boss Farke has pulled off a brilliant signing and the former Norwich City manager was full of praise for the 22-year-old back in September and labelled him as a ‘warrior’.

“Joe [Rodon] belongs to our last row, Farke told the Yorkshire Evening Post. “He had to be there with many clearances, was an aerial threat, even with a little cut under his eyebrow, he was willing to go [on], so he showed warrior mentality.

“That’s exactly what you need if you want to be successful at such a tough place – I think he was excellent today.”

Whilst Leeds will be devastated to lose Gray this summer, the addition of Rodon will certainly go some way to making up for this loss as they bid to return to the Premier League.
