The Sun are reporting this evening that Tottenham Hotspur could send Joe Rodon out on loan in the summer transfer window.
What’s the story?
According to The Sun, Tottenham are interested in signing Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna.
Spurs are reportedly confident that they will be able to sign the versatile 22-year-old defender for £15 million.
The Japan international can play as a central defender and as a right-back.
The 22-year-old even played twice as a left-back in Serie A last season.
Spurs want Tomiyasu to play as a centre-back, and his arrival could see the North London club send Rodon out on loan.
Disappointment for Joe Rodon
If Tottenham do sign Tomiyasu and decide to send Rodon out on loan, then it will be a disappointment for the 23-year-old central defender.
Yes, the Wales International did not have the best of times last season, but he will surely want to kick on under a new manager in 2021-22.
Tottenham paid Swansea City £11 million for Rodon last summer, as reported by BBC Sport.

The youngster made eight starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for Spurs last season.
Going out on loan might make it tough for Rodon to eventually get back into the team, especially if Tomiyasu (should he join) and other centre-backs do well.
Gareth Bale, who spent last season on loan at Tottenham from Real Madrid, told the club’s official Twitch channel in March that his Wales international teammate was “improving a lot”.
