Celtic have been heavily linked with a deal for Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Joe Hart – and it looks like the deal is pretty much done.

The Bhoys tried to give Vasilis Barkas another chance to shine after a disappointing first season at Parkhead, but the Greek international continues to struggle.

Scott Bain hasn’t exactly fared that much better, and that means Ange Postecoglou is dipping back into the transfer market for a deal with Hart.

Fabrizio Romano claimed late on Monday night that Hart has secured a permanent deal with Celtic, and will earn £15,000-a-week at Parkhead.

Hart has been in Glasgow today for a medical and to finalise his terms with Celtic, and an Instagram post this afternoon has hinted that the deal is close.

Hart has posted a photo on his story from what appears to be a plane, accompanied with two words – ‘let’s go’.

The posted also featured a grinning emoji and, most notably a green heart – signifying that his next move really is with Celtic.

The 34-year-old has only made 38 league appearances across the last four seasons and seems to be in decline, but Postecoglou will hope his experience and history of winning silverware will prove vital for Celtic.

UPDATE: Celtic have now confirmed the signing of Hart, alongside free agent midfielder James McCarthy.
