The BBC pundit highlighted similarities between Arsenal and the Tottenham Hotspur side that he was involved in.
When speaking live on BBC Radio Five Live on February 4th, Jermaine Jenas expressed his shock at seeing Arsenal’s fragile mentality, and compared Arsene Wenger’s current side to the Spurs team that he himself played in more than five years ago.
Jenas was part of a Tottenham side that was full of individual talent, but was seriously bereft of experienced winners, or any kind of strong-willed, tenacious players.

And it could be argued that the Gunners have exactly the same problem this season.
Jenas spoke to BBC Radio Five Live, and highlighted how Wenger’s men seem to be happy with finishing in fourth place now – a far cry from the teams he remembers from times gone by:

“When we started the season, not one person, not one manager, not one player looked at each other and said: ‘We’re going to win the league. How have Arsenal allowed this kind of mentality to infiltrate their camp? They were a team that were chasing titles and all of a sudden now, whether it’s Arsene Wenger that’s allowed this, or it’s the club, they have become this top four team that chases cups.”

With Chelsea holding such a commanding position in the Premier League table, it is likely that both Arsenal and Tottenham will once again come up short this season.
Jenas definitely has a point concerning Arsenal. They seem to be a team who accept failure better than others, and that attitude can only stem from the manager.

And out of the two clubs, Spurs seem to be in a far stronger position to push on and win a league title in the foreseeable future.
