The Tottenham Hotspur man was disappointed with his side’s attacking display last night.

Spurs were left frustrated, following their 0-0 draw at Sunderland last night, and Eric Dier admitted that his side lacked the ‘punch’ to go on and win the game, as quoted by the club’s official website.

Tottenham controlled the game as far as possession of the football is concerned, but lacked any kind of edge to their attacking play, and registered just three shots on target during the 90 minutes of play.

And Dier explained how his team need to find a ruthless streak if they are to be successful over the coming years, when speaking to reporters in the wake of last night’s result, as quoted by TottenhamHotspur.com:

“We controlled the game but we didn’t create enough opportunities. We had a lot of possession and controlled the game but didn’t have that punch at the end of it. Sunderland were very resolute and we found it hard to create enough chances to deserve to win.”

The one major plus point for the Lilywhites is that they have already played most of their tough away games on paper.

Their only remaining game on the road against any team inside the current top eight is their trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool on February 11th.

And if they can find a way to be more ruthless in front of goal, they are by no means out of the title race just yet.
