Jayson Tatum has shared his honest reaction to the Boston Celtics trading Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers.
After the Celtics offered him to the Milwaukee Bucks for Giannis Antetokounmpo, Brown’s situation became untenable.
Boston then decided to trade him to the 76ers for Paul George, two first-round picks, and two second-round picks.
The 2026/27 season will be the first in a decade that Brown and Tatum will not play together for the Celtics.

What Jayson Tatum really thinks about Jaylen Brown joining the 76ers
Jayson Tatum has admitted that it will be “weird” without Jaylen Brown in the Boston Celtics’ locker room next season.
Even though there were several reports of friction between them, they formed one of the best duos in the modern NBA.
“If I’m being transparent, it’s weird. I’ve been with the Celtics nine years, and he was my teammate in every single one,” Tatum said.
“You understand that throughout the course of a career, the NBA is a business and people change teams, coaches, and front offices change, but it doesn’t make it any easier.
“There’s still a human element to it that you feel those emotions. The city (Boston) feels those emotions.
“But there’s also the side of having to welcome our new teammates with open arms, and we still have to attack the new season. So, there’s a balance, but it’s weird.”
Tatum will now look ahead to working with his new Celtics teammates: Paul George, Mitchell Robinson and Mike Conley.
The Celtics can still contend for the title next season, but it will depend more than ever on Tatum playing at an MVP level.
