Seattle hosted the USMNT’s last 16 game against Belgium, but Seahawks star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba opted for a different match.

The USMNT’s World Cup journey came to an end on Monday after being beaten heavily by Belgium at Lumen Field.

Some of the stars were out on display in the Pacific Northwest, with a number of the Seahawks staff and players also in attendance.

Head coach Mike Macdonald, general manager John Schneider and players Leonard Williams, Brady Russell, and A.J. Barner were all out to show their support.

What will Donald Trump have to say to get them out of this one? 👀

Although it was not enough to help Mauricio Pochettino’s team over the line, these familiar faces will have gone down well in Seattle.

However, NFL Offensive Player of the Year Smith-Njigba did attend a World Cup game on Monday, but he did not opt to show his support for the USMNT.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba opts to attend Portugal vs Spain over USMNT game

Smith-Njigba signed his four-year, $168.6m contract extension earlier in the offseason following his standout year for the Seahawks.

The wide receiver has certainly enjoyed his time away from the game following the Super Bowl win back in February.

Despite his teammates and coaches being back in Seattle to watch the USMNT in action, Smith-Njigba remained in Texas, where he watched Portugal vs Spain in Dallas.

The 24-year-old posted an Instagram story of his view from the AT&T Stadium.

Born in Nacogdoches, Smith-Njigba has his Texas roots inked on his body, with the state map also accompanied by a Dallas Cowboys star tattoo.

Some will argue he chose the better of the two games given the USMNT found themselves on the end of an emphatic defeat at the hands of Belgium.

Smith-Njigba also got to witness what was likely Cristiano Ronaldo’s final-ever game for Portugal.
