Phoenix Mercury star Alyssa Thomas putting her fist on Caitlin Clark’s throat has led to some mixed reactions from fans and experts.
However, if there’s one unanimously hated take about the entire situation, it was former NFL star Emmanuel Acho saying that the WNBA no longer needs Caitlin Clark.
Following the ridiculous take, Acho has been consistently called out by WNBA fans. The ex-NFL star recently shared how he has been dealing with the constant insults from fans.

Jason Whitlock quickly shuts down Emmanuel Acho’s defense on Caitlin Clark’s controversy
Acho revealed in the aftermath that his take on the WNBA outgrowing Clark has caused fans to abuse him online.
“I’ve been called the ‘N’ word more times in the last 24 hours than I have in the last 24 years in defense of Caitlin Clark,” Acho revealed.
However, analyst Jason Whitlock didn’t like Acho’s response. Instead, Whitlock called out the former NFL player for playing victim.
“This victimhood Olympics, everybody’s in on it. I guess he’s talking about the hard ‘R,’ but give me a break. They’ve turned sports talk totally g__,” Whitlock said.
He added, “Here you got a big old football player that has turned himself, ‘Now everyone’s calling me the ‘N’ word because they’re defending Caitlin Clark, and that’s Caitlin Clark’s fault.'”
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but like Whitlock pointed out, it was Acho’s fault for making a ridiculous take, and instead of apologizing for it, he tried to play the victim card, which backfired on him.
