Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Japhet Tanganga against Manchester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium today.
What’s the story?
Tanganga was in action for Tottenham in their Premier League game against City at home today.
The 22-year-old started at right-back and had a wonderful game for the North London club.
The Englishman was very solid at the back and did not allow the City attackers much room or freedom.
Tanganga was bullish with his challenges and did not get fazed at the prospect of playing against the defending Premier League champions.
Raheem Sterling struggled against him.
The defender had a pass accuracy of 90%, won one header, took 49 touches, made two tackles, one interception and two clearances, and put in one cross.
What are Tottenham Hotspur fans saying?
As you can see from the tweets below, Tottenham fans were very impressed by the display produced by Tanganga and want him to stay.
Well, some of them anyway.
Serge Aurier and Matt Doherty are the other right-backs in the Tottenham squad, and it will be interesting to see whether Tanganga keeps his place in the starting lineup.
Interestingly, Fanatik reported this month that Galatasaray could sign Tanganga on loan from Spurs, as we covered here on HITC Sport.
