Jamie Carragher made his opinion on Sadio Mane abundantly clear last night

Jamie Carragher raved about Liverpool forward Sadio Mane on Sky Sports Premier League (9:48pm, May 13, 2021) during the Premier League game against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Carragher praised Mane for recently coming out and admitting that his form for Liverpool this season has not been great.

The former Liverpool defender hailed the Senegal international forward and said that he admires him.

Carragher made the comments during his co-commentary duty for Sky Sports on the Premier League game between United and Liverpool at Old Trafford on Thursday evening.

The Englishman said about Mane on Sky Sports Premier League (9:48pm, May 13, 2021): “Well, I make no secrets of my admiration of him and how good he has been for Liverpool, and even more so when players go through poor times, very rarely do they hold their hands up and say they have not been at their best, they have been really poor. I think he has come out and said that in the last few days, and my respect for him has never been higher. He has been an absolute revelation.”

Mane has not been brilliant this season and is having a disappointing campaign.

The 29-year-old forward has scored nine goals and provided five assists in the Premier League and scored three goals and gave one assist in the Champions League this season.

There was also the controversial incident at the end of the game against United.

Mane refused to shake hands with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. He was clearly not happy that he did not start at Old Trafford.

While Mane should have been more respectful to Klopp in front of cameras, it must not be forgotten that he is a brilliant footballer who is just having a bad season and will come good soon.

Meanwhile, former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp praised forward Diogo Jota for his performance against United.

Redknapp said on Sky Sports Premier League (9:12pm, May 13, 2021): “Great touch with his right foot. Such as a difficult piece of skill, but he does it so well. He has looked so sharp all game.”
