The Rangers midfielder is due to rejoin Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox ranks in January.

As one loaned-out Rangers midfielder continues to shine in the English Football League, another’s spell away from Ibrox took a sorry turn on Saturday.
Greg Docherty has scored or assisted 10 goals in 22 games since leaving Rangers for a season-long stay at Shrewsbury Town.
And his success in Shropshire has fuelled talk of an early return to Ibrox – a prospect that, when questioned this weekend, he claimed to know little about (Sunday Post).
But one of Docherty’s teammates will almost certainly rejoin Steven Gerrard’s ranks should his situation fail to improve before the New Year.

Unlike the 22-year-old, Jamie Barjonas only signed a six-month deal at Bury, who have used him just eight times all season.
And the Rangers academy product was dropped from the squad entirely on Saturday, despite being singled out for praise by his manager, Ryan Lowe (Bury FC – official Twitter), having impressed in the EFL Trophy four days earlier.
It was Lowe’s friendship with Gerrard, with whom he played in Liverpool’s youth set up, that led to Barjonas signing for Bury (Bury FC – official site).
But the Rangers boss is likely to think twice before he sanctions an extension for the Scotland Under-19s player, should the Shakers even ask for one.
