Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers sent Greg Docherty to Shrewsbury Town on loan in the summer transfer window.
Greg Docherty at Rangers
Docherty joined Rangers from Hamilton Academical in January 2018 for a transfer fee reported by The Sunday Post to be worth £500,000.
The 22-year-old midfielder moved to Shrewsbury in League One in England on a season-long loan deal from Rangers in the summer transfer window.
The Scottish youngster has admitted that he does now know if Rangers manager Gerrard will bring him back to Ibrox in the January transfer window.
Docherty, though, has made it clear that he plans to be at Rangers in the long run.
“As far as I’m aware I have signed for the season at Shrewsbury Town,” Docherty told The Sunday Post. “I don’t know if there is an option to take me back to Rangers next month.
“I’m aware there has been some chat on the internet about it, but I honestly couldn’t tell you.”
The youngster added: “My long-term plan is to be a first-team player at Rangers. That’s my aim.”

Progress
Docherty is doing well at Shrewsbury and is progressing nicely at the League One outfit.
The midfielder has made 15 starts and two substitute appearances in League One for Shrewsbury so far this season, scoring four goals in the process, according to WhoScored.
It would make sense for Rangers to let Docherty finish his loan spell in England and then return to Ibrox in the summer of 2019.
