There were plenty of familiar faces at UFC Freedom 250, and not just from the world of MMA.

After the fights wrapped up, Joe Rogan didn’t hesitate to call June 14 the ‘greatest night in combat sports history’ while still processing everything that happened.

The energy inside the White House was undeniable, especially after Justin Gaethje closed out the night with another performance fans won’t soon forget.

But Jamahal Hill wasn’t alone in noticing that it was mainly UFC fighters who seemed to get most of the attention during the event.

UFC Freedom 250 drew a crowd filled with big names, including Tyson Fury, Mark Zuckerberg, and Triple H. A lot of those names were expected, given their existing ties to the sport and its promotion.

But what went mostly unnoticed was just how few of those 4,300 seats were filled by fighters not scheduled to compete on the night.

Former light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill raised the issue in a now-deleted social media post, saying: “Crazy seeing all these athletes at the fights and not one UFC fighter that’s not fighting is there!!! All I wanna say is that they don’t really care about us!!”

Conor McGregor echoed similar feelings in several posts. “The platforming of our athletes within the business was not capitalised on enough in my opinion,” he said in another. “I don’t know who these guys are that have never fought MMA yet were visibly all over the show.”

The pre-fight events at The Ellipse did feature quite a few fighters, but it’s unclear how many made it from there to seats near the Octagon for fight night itself.

Cub Swanson and Jim Miller posted from inside the arena, so some fighters were definitely present. But they didn’t get much focus during broadcasts compared to figures from WWE, Zuffa Boxing or other partners involved with UFC.
