February 9 holds a special place in the calendar for Jake Paul and his fiancée.

It was not just comments from Team USA athletes that drew Paul’s attention to this year’s Winter Olympics.

‘The Problem Child’ has shifted gears into boxing over recent years, but he is not the only competitor in his household.

While Paul is expected to step back into the ring later this year, that has not been the main thing on his mind so far in 2026. He had a far more important date circled on his calendar.

Paul’s absence from the ring in early 2026 was always expected after his loss to Anthony Joshua, with injuries naturally keeping him sidelined.

But it was not just the recovery that explained why fans would not see him back early in 2026. There was another reason closer to home that had nothing to do with boxing.

Logan Paul had mentioned that Jake’s focus would shift towards supporting his fiancée, Jutta Leerdam, as she chased gold in speed skating at the Winter Olympics. And on February 9th, those words became reality.

Leerdam took gold by beating Japan’s Miho Takagi and fellow Dutch skater Femke Kok. She did it by breaking the very record that Kok had set moments earlier. The cameras caught both her and Paul’s emotional reactions straight after the win.

Immediately following the victory, ‘The Problem Child’ posted on X: “Juttttttttttaaaaaaaa. I can’t stop crying. You did it my love. Olympic Gold. God is great and so are you.

“We just witnessed one of the most important sporting moments ever.”

Jake Paul has had quite a few things going on lately

The past day has not been straightforward for Paul, especially after his comments about the US Olympic team caught people’s attention.

He also found himself explaining remarks he made about Bad Bunny, in which he had called for a boycott of the Super Bowl halftime show. The YouTuber-turned-boxer later took to social media to claim that his words had been misunderstood.

Amanda Serrano had already addressed his initial comments before these follow-up posts. As someone who represents Puerto Rico and is part of Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, her response added another layer to an already busy day for him.
