The World Cup is underway, but we’re still a few days away from England getting their campaign going.

The Three Lions kick off on Wednesday against Croatia, and excitement is certainly brewing around what Thomas Tuchel’s side can achieve at this tournament.

England reached the Euros final at their last major outing, and they will be looking to go one better this time.

There has been plenty of expert opinion on how England will do at this tournament, Eden Hazard thinks the Three Lions will be out by the quarter-final stage, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has tipped England to make the final.

Now, Jack Wilshere has shared his verdict on England’s chances at this tournament.

Jack Wilshere backs England to win the World Cup

Speaking to The Mail, Wilshere has tipped England to go all the way and win the World Cup.

In fact, Wilshere reckons England will win the tournament in style too, picking Harry Kane as his Golden Boot winner and Jordan Pickford as his favourite for the Golden Glove.

No team has ever swept every trophy at a tournament, but Wilshere reckons England could do it.

Argentina came very close at the last tournament, but, after a hat-trick in the final, Kylian Mbappe just pipped Lionel Messi to the Golden Boot.

Meanwhile, Germany were close in 2014 too, but James Rodriguez just about beat Thomas Muller to the Golden Boot that year.

If England win the World Cup while Kane and Pickford win their respective individual awards, England will be creating a serious bit of history.
