The World Cup is upon us, and, as ever, there are a few teams heading into this tournament who will fancy their chances of winning.

Spain and France are the two tournament favourites according to the odds. Meanwhile, Argentina will be looking to defend their crown.

As ever, you can’t write Brazil or Germany off either as perennial challengers at the top table of international football.

England have slowly progressed as a team over the past decade, and after coming close to glory on numerous occasions, they will be hoping to go one step further this time.

Speaking on Marseille’s TikTok page, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has now predicted how far England will get in this tournament.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s England prediction

Aubameyang was asked to name the two teams he believes will get to the World Cup final.

The Gabonese striker claimed that he can see the two finalists being England and France.

Eden Hazard recently claimed England will go out in the quarter-finals, but Aubameyang is more positive about the Three Lions’ chances.

However, Aubameyang did claim that France would win that potential final.

As a former France U21 player, Aubameyang may be a bit biased though.

England’s major tournament record vs France

Aubameyang reckons England could face France in the World Cup final, and that could be a nightmare match-up for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Indeed, France have been something of a bogey team for England at tournaments in recent memory – England haven’t beaten France in a tournament since 1982.
