Jack Draper is facing a tough start to the 2026 ATP season

Jack Draper’s struggles in the 2026 ATP season have been hard to ignore, with injuries and inconsistent form making it a challenging period for the 24-year-old.

So far this year, Draper has played only nine matches, posting a 5-4 record. This limited action has made it difficult for him to find any real momentum.

In hopes of turning things around during the grass-court season, Draper added Andy Murray to his coaching staff. However, he has yet to step onto the grass this year.

His last appearance came on the clay in Barcelona back in April, where he was forced to retire from his first-round match due to injury.

Draper has since missed tournaments in Madrid, Rome, Hamburg and Roland Garros as well as Queen’s.

Jack Draper sees a significant slide down the ATP rankings

Draper has also lost his spot as British number one, slipping behind both Cameron Norrie and Jan Choinski to now sit third in the pecking order.

Even more concerning is the fact that he’s just dropped 37 places in the ATP rankings, falling all the way down to 112th.

His ranking took another hit after missing out on the French Open, costing him 200 points he had to defend.

This marks a sharp contrast from where he was last summer when he reached a career-high of world number four.

Jack Draper looks to steady his season at Eastbourne

On a brighter note, when Draper’s withdrawal from Queen’s became official, he shared some encouraging news. He’s set his sights on returning at Eastbourne, the ATP 250 event that serves as a final tune-up before Wimbledon.

Despite all the interruptions, the three-time ATP champion has still managed to show glimpses of his quality this year. Even with limited appearances, there have been moments that remind people why there were such high hopes for him.

He even holds a positive record in 2026 so far and managed to defeat Novak Djokovic at Indian Wells. But consistency remains an issue — something he’s struggled to achieve since the start of his career.
