Some Liverpool fans on social media are completely sold on signing Issa Diop after a 13-second clip of him playing against Tottenham was shared on Twitter.
The clip shows Diop running through from his own half, showing great pace to get in behind the Tottenham backline before his low shot was saved by Hugo Lloris.
Dribbling and shooting aren’t two attributes that you’d usually associate with a quality centre-half, but it was his pace that had fans talking more than anything.
Interestingly, this clip saw Diop compared to two players, one being Joel Matip, the man he would be replacing if he joined Liverpool, and the other being Yaya Toure, and we have to say that his run against Spurs was very Yaya-esque.
Diop is a player that Liverpool are quite keen on signing, and while West Ham fans aren’t keen to see him leave, reports claim that he could be available for around £20m.
Whether or not this one gets over the line or not remains to be seen, but this footage on social media seems to have Liverpool fans convinced that he’s the right man for the job.
