Speaking on the Inside Elland Road Podcast, Graham Smyth has shot down the idea of Leeds bringing Fikayo Tomori in on loan this month.
The Whites had been linked with a move for Tomori this week, but it seems as though those links were more speculation than anything as Smyth’s sources have told him that no deal for the centre-back is on the cards.
“There has been a lot of talk about the Tomori kid at Chelsea. I’ve been told no on that front,” Smyth said.
“I had a look myself, and I think what has blown that up a bit is that it’s been quoted as a BBC Sport story, which gives it some sort of gravitas and credibility, but I looked at the BBC story that it seemed to come from, but that was from their rumour round-up which was quoting a Metro Sport piece which was quoting Football Insider.”

Unfortunately, it seems as though Tomori isn’t on his way to Leeds.
Smyth is a very well-connected journalist, so his word on this should be taken seriously, and it seems as though it’s bad news for Leeds fans.
United supporters were very excited to see Tomori come to Elland Road when the story emerged earlier this week, but it seems as though this one isn’t going to happen.
However, anything can happen in football, so we can’t 100 per cent say that Tomori won’t end up at Leeds this month, but Smyth’s update certainly makes it seem unlikely.
The fact remains that Leeds could probably still do with a centre-half with their ongoing injury crisis causing a number of problems, so it may be worth keeping an eye on stories about potential targets in that position.
