Some Leeds United fans on Twitter are getting excited after links to Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori emerged this week.

The centre-back has impressed in the past for Chelsea, but the arrival of Thiago Silva this season has seen him slip down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

You can understand why Chelsea are looking for a loan move for the 23-year-old, and Leeds is apparently the most likely destination for him, while Newcastle have also been linked.

As you can imagine, some supporters were keen to see the one-time England international come to Elland Road.

It is somewhat surprising to see that Leeds fans were so pleased to see Tomori linked after-all, he was a part of the Derby County squad who beat Leeds in the playoffs back in 2019, and he seems to be a favourite of Frank Lampard, a man who United supporters aren’t too fond of.

However, one fan quipped that he’d be willing to forget Tomori’s contribution at Derby if he joined Leeds, such is the quality of the defender.

One fan even went as far as to say Tomori is better than Ben White, a man who starred at Elland Road last season, and with an England cap to his name, it’s hard to argue against that case.

Here’s what the Elland Road faithful have been saying on social media…
