Unfortunately for Liverpool supporters, Aurelien Tchouameni to Real Madrid is looking like a formality at this stage.
Foot Mercato reported earlier this week that Liverpool’s hopes of signing the Monaco powerhouse was hanging by a thread.
The Spanish giants look set to sign him – and one of los Blancos’ squad, who helped defeat Jurgen Klopp’s side in the Champions League final last weekend, has offered a pretty sizeable hint.
Eduardo Camavinga has revealed that he has already spoken to his fellow France international regarding a transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu.
He said via The Daily Mail: “I hope Tchouaméni is coming to Madrid, I’ve already spoken to him. Let’s see what happens in the next few days…”
It certainly sounds like Camavinga is expecting Tchouameni to snub Liverpool in favour of Real and, if it materialises, it’s more horrendous news for the Anfield outfit.
That’s because in mid-May it was reported that joining the Premier League side was actually the 22-year-old’s preference.
However, that was when Klopp’s side were in the running for a stunning quadruple and having only wound up winning the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, maybe their end-of-season struggle – losing the Premier League title and Champions League inside six days – has had an adverse affect on their ability to convince Tchouameni.
Sadly, Aurelien Tchouameni to Real Madrid, not Liverpool, is looking like a matter of time.
