Ryan Sessegnon has said that Antonio Conte could be the ‘perfect’ manager to revive his career at Tottenham after a stagnant two years at the club.
Speaking to the press via Football London ahead of tomorrow’s UEFA Europa Conference League clash, the 21-year-old attacker revealed that he is excited to work under the Italian manager. With the youngster claiming that Conte could be the man to save his career.
Sessegnon joined Tottenham in 2019 for £25m according to BBC Sport. Yet despite arriving with a big reputation from Fulham, the youngster’s development has hit a roadblock. With the England youth international hardly featuring for the north London side.
However, the appointment of the Italian could change all of that. With the former Inter Milan boss favouring a formation that uses wingbacks. Moreover, Sessegnon believes Conte’s system will benefit him greatly.
The wide-player said: “For me it’s massive, you say to really kickstart your career as it has been stop-start since I’ve been at the club. It’s a big opportunity and I’m looking forward to it.”
Sessegnon added: “This could be a chance to kickstart my career. I’m just looking forward to the future now. The formation is perfect for me. To play left wing-back is probably where I’m most comfortable playing. It suits me.”
Conte could unlock Sessegnon’s Tottenham potential

Few managers in the world can lay claim to being an expert when it comes to coaching certain positions. But for Conte and wingbacks, the Italian coach has forged careers for players due to his knowledge and utilisation of the role. And Sessegnon can thrive.
Indeed, the youngster is one of the most exciting talents at Spurs. Furthermore, his qualities could make him the perfect player to succeed at left-wingback. And Sessegnon’s mentality and experience could see his true potential become unlocked under Conte.
