It has been some journey for Olivier Giroud, winning three FA Cups in Arsenal colours, the Europa League at Chelsea and now the Seria A title with AC Milan.
When the 35-year-old was at Arsenal, he was always a marmite-like figure with the fans.
Whilst the Gunners competed in the Champions League and won a number of FA Cups, they didn’t succeed in lifting the Premier League title.
Those at Arsenal probably envy those days now because they are far better than what they have to watch today.
As the English Premier League side settles for Europa League football, after the conclusion of the 2021/22 campaign on Sunday.
Giroud celebrated creating history with AC Milan by helping them win their first Serie A title in 11 years.
The France international posted on Instagram ‘it’s coming home’, as he expressed his delight at his and the team’s success.
GIROUD AN UNDERRATED FIGURE DURING HIS CAREER
Throughout his career, Giroud hasn’t been a player that will score a high volume of goals or put opponents on their backside with his ridiculous ball-carrying ability.
But, one thing he does have is the quality to knit everything together around him and make those around him better.
The Frenchman finished the Serie A campaign with 11 goals from his 29 matches, including a memorable brace against rivals Inter back in February.
Either way, added with winning the World Cup with France, that’s another big trophy to add to Giroud’s cabinet.
