Nottingham Forest have “made contact” with non-league starlet Olly Allen after Wolverhampton Wanderers decided against signing the highly rated youngster, as reported by Get Surrey.
Those pesky Brexit rules could hit Wolves harder than most.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side has made a habit of snapping up talented teenagers from mainland Europe, bringing in Fabio Silva, Pedro Neto, Ruben Vinagre and co in recent transfer windows.
But with new legislation making it more difficult than ever for Premier League clubs to sign EU-based teenagers, Wolves may be forced to look closer to home for exciting young talent.
Dorking Wanderers starlet Olly Allen won’t be on his way to Molineux, however.
The technically gifted attacking midfielder enjoyed a trial at Wolves recently but the Black Country outfit won’t be taking up the chance to sign him in the summer.
“Wolves spoke to me a couple of days (after the trial), just to basically say they weren’t going to offer me a pro contract or a scholarship at the moment,” says Allen, who could end up at a Championship club instead.

“But there were two clubs, Nottingham Forest and Coventry, watching the game I was playing in. They were interested and Forest have followed that up and made contact with my dad and the club.
“Obviously, it’s a shame about Wolves but a Premier League club is a big step up from what I’m playing in at the moment.
“I’m really happy at Dorking, though, but it’s nice to know other clubs are keen on me, like Forest have already shown.”
Allen has also spent time at Brighton and Hove Albion, although it’s unclear whether the Seagulls are still interested.
