Stevie Nicol thinks Liverpool won’t be able to secure the signature of Manchester City and Real Madrid transfer target Jude Bellingham during the transfer market.

Whilst the Anfield legend acknowledged that the 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund star would be a ‘great’ signing for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, he just can’t see it happening, as he told ESPN.

Before the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the 22-cap England international was a wanted man, but the midfielder’s performances in Qatar have probably now created even more of a scrap to sign him.

Given Bellingham’s talents, he could play for any club he wishes, with Real Madrid and Manchester City also in the race to sign perhaps football’s next big superstar.

But whilst Liverpool fans dream of possibly winning the race for Bellingham’s talents, one of their former players just can’t see it happening.

“The Bellingham one would be great, but I don’t see that one happening any time soon,” said Nicol.

BELLINGHAM’S NEXT TRANSFER MOVE

When Bellingham decided to leave Birmingham City, he could have taken the option of moving to a club in the Premier League and making a name for himself in that way.

But he decided his football education was best served in Germany, which has proven to be a masterstroke of a move.

And now the next stage of his footballing career could become crucial in what happens to him during the next ten years because this is where he steps foot into an elite club of European football.
