Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has named his FA Cup winner against Chelsea in 2020 as the highlight of his career following his exit from Arsenal.

Speaking to FC Barcelona’s official YouTube channel after signing for the Catalan giants, the 32-year-old striker revealed that his second goal in the 2020 FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium was the best goal and moment of his career.

Managed by Mikel Arteta, Aubameyang was key to Arsenal’s run to their historic 14th FA Cup triumph, with the Gabon international scoring all four of the Gunners’ goals in both the semi-final against Manchester City and against Chelsea in the final.

Despite the striker naming Arteta as the reason behind leaving Arsenal, Aubameyang still regards Arsenal with respect, with the attacker saying when asked about the best goal he has scored in his career: “It was against Chelsea in the FA Cup.”

Indeed, Aubameyang has been one of the best strikers Arsenal have had in the Emirates Stadium era of the club, with the former Borussia Dortmund star scoring 92 goals in all competitions for the north London side.

Whilst his time with the Gunners came to a disappointing end, there is no doubt that Aubameyang will be held in high regard by many Arsenal supporters in the coming years, with his seasons with the forward key to bringing silverware to the Gunners.

There are, of course, many goals Aubameyang scored for Arsenal that hold much more value in terms of quality compared to the one the striker scored in the 2020 FA Cup final, yet none will ever be as important.

The goal secured European qualification for Arsenal and won Arteta’s his first piece of silverware, and for Aubameyang, it etched his name into club history.
