Stan Collymore has written in CaughtOffSide that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool should not extend the contract of midfielder Naby Keita, who has been linked with Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Liverpool striker has said that Keita is not going to click at Anfield.
The £130,000-a-week (SalarySport) midfielder has struggled during his time at Liverpool so far.
There have been injury problems for Keita, who has failed to impress much when he has played.
The 28-year-old midfielder is out of contract at the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners at the end of the season.
There is speculation that Tottenham want to sign Keita on a free transfer in the summer of 2023.
Earlier this month, 90min reported that Spurs are considering an offer for the Guinea international at the end of the season.

Collymore wrote: “I would definitely let Naby Keita go. His move from RB Leipzig back in 2018 was an exciting one because of how long the fans had to wait for him to join because of how the deal was constructed but it just hasn’t worked out.
“Sometimes that happens in football when a player joins a club and fails to live up to expectations.
“He’s been at Anfield long enough and if it hasn’t worked by now, it never will, so the end of the season certainly feels like the right time to let him go.
“He’s out of contract in the summer anyway so everything is pointing toward an end-of-season-exit.”
Warning for Spurs
In our view, Stan Collymore’s comments on Naby Keita should be a warning for Tottenham Hotspur.
Yes, we feel for Keita.
If he did not have his injury problems and there was not such fierce competition for places in the Liverpool midfielder, then perhaps he could have been a success at Anfield.
However, the fact of the matter is that Keita has failed to make a huge impact in the Premier League.
Even on a free transfer, signing Keita would be a massive risk for Spurs.
