Are Liverpool signing Karim Adeyemi?
Unfortunately for the Reds’ faithful, the answer is no.
A couple of months ago, Sky Germany reported that Liverpool could look to hijack Borussia Dortmund’s interest in the 20-year-old sensation.
Red Bull Salzburg rejected Dortmund’s attempt to sign him and that, it was thought, opened the door for Jurgen Klopp, Michael Edwards and Julian Ward to swoop.
In April, Austria’s edition of Sky Sports claimed that Liverpool even had talks with the player regarding a move to Anfield.
But now it’s dead as the dodo.
That’s because Adeyemi has indeed now signed for Borussia Dortmund, ending any talk of Liverpool getting him for quite a while.
Here’s how the German-born forward reacted to the transfer on Twitter:
Are Liverpool signing Karim Adeyemi?
Well no, not at the moment, but no doubt this is a player who Klopp will keep on his radar.
Erling Haaland was only at Dortmund for a couple of years before sealing a much bigger move to Manchester City on Tuesday evening.
With Klopp contracted to Liverpool until the year 2026, and Adeyemi being only 20, there’s plenty of time for the Reds to get their man eventually.
But for the moment, he’ll be in the Bundesliga next season and beyond.
