Micah Richards has written in The Daily Mail that he cannot understand why Everton or Tottenham Hotspur have not approached Roberto Mancini.
Richards worked with Mancini when they were at Manchester City.
The former City manager is now in charge of the Italy national football team.
Both Everton and Tottenham are on the hunt for new managers.
Jose Mourinho was sacked as the Spurs boss back in April, while Carlo Ancelotti left Everton earlier this month for Real Madrid.
Micah Richards’s comments
Richards wrote in The Daily Mail: “When I watch Italy’s games at this Euros, I wonder why there is not the same buzz around their current manager and why Premier League clubs have not been doing all they can to recruit him.
“I suspect some people will accuse me of bias when I talk about Roberto Mancini but my relationship with him has got nothing to do with my views.
“You are watching one of the world’s best managers in his prime and it baffles me why, for instance, Tottenham and Everton have not targeted him.”

Roberto Mancini to Everton?
The Telegraph has claimed that Tottenham actually have Mancini on their radar, although they are in talks with Nuno at the moment.
But, as far as Everton are concerned, the Toffees appear to be edging closer to appointing Rafael Benitez as their new manager.
The Athletic are reporting that the former Liverpool boss could be in the Everton hotseat soon.
Richards does make a good point about Mancini.
The 56-year-old is one of the best managers around and was a huge success in England.
The Italian won the Premier League and the FA Cup during his managerial spell at City.
Mancini also led Inter Milan to three successive Scudetti in Italy in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
The former Italy international forward would be a brilliant managerial appointment for Everton, but the problem is that he is already in a job.
It was always unlikely that Mancini would have entertained any thoughts of club management now, as he is with Italy at the ongoing Euro 2020 finals at the moment.
