The Liverpool hitman is a reported transfer target for West Ham United.
A report from the Sun last night suggested that the Hammers have entered the race to sign Reds forward Danny Ings on loan in January, but David Moyes should seriously consider the player’s past injury record before making a move.
West Ham have really struggled over the past 18 months, and one of the major contributing factors behind their abysmal form has been some of their key men being ruled out for long periods with injury, especially in forward areas.
Both Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho have made just 21 Premier League starts combined since August 2016 – an obviously rather paltry amount for so-called elite athletes, and the concerning thing for Hammers fans, following yesterday’s report from the Sun, is that during that same period, Ings has made zero starts.
The east London outfit are really struggling at the moment, and are sitting precariously in 18th position in the Premier League table.
Who Moyes brings to the London Stadium in January will be of vital importance to his side’s hopes of safety, and it would be in the Scot’s best interest to target players with more of a robust profile than the Liverpool ace.

There is a long and arduous campaign ahead for Moyes side, and the acquisition of Ings would be a huge mistake, with the 25-year-old totally unproven at Premier League level.
The former Everton and Manchester United boss needs to get the Hammers fans onside quickly, and signing Ings would surely not be the right way to go about doing that.
