The West Bromwich Albion man was impressed with the Pole’s performance against Liverpool.
Baggies boss Alan Pardew spoke to reporters after his side’s hard-fought 0-0 draw with Liverpool last night, and raved about the performance of Grzegorz Krychowiak, highlighting how he showcased his genuine international class, as quoted by the Express & Star.
The 27-year-old joined West Brom on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, and has gone on to make 11 Premier League appearances, although he has not always covered himself in glory.
Much was expected of the Poland international when he arrived in the Black Country, and perhaps there was too much pressure placed on him to perform, considering the vast difference in physicality between Ligue 1 and the Premier League.
Pardew addressed the media following his side’s draw at Anfield last night, and explained how he told Krychowiak that he needed to work on his fitness, following his appointment as manager at the Hawthorns, as quoted by the Express & Star:
“I thought he was very good. We felt he needed a bit of work if I’m honest when we come here. We worked him quite hard in the background and thought Anfield might be a place that he would do well. He had some moments where he showed his international class I thought.”
Next up for the Baggies is a home game against Manchester United on Sunday, and if they can replicate the commitment and application they showed against Liverpool last night, they have every chance of taking something from the game.
