Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Jurgen Klopp has gone on the record about Liverpool’s interest in Fabio Carvalho.

The Fulham star reportedly came very close to joining Liverpool on transfer deadline day, but sadly for the Reds, they were unable to get the deal over the line.

However, it seems as though the Merseyside club won’t be deterred in their efforts to sign the ‘outstanding’ 19-year-old.

What’s Klopp said about Carvalho?

Klopp spoke about the youngster.

“I don’t know, we will see there. Obviously we are still interested there, it would be crazy if we weren’t, but Marco said it all yesterday in his press conference. It was late and the transfer widow closed again, and so in the end it didn’t work out, but yeah, we will see what happens,” Klopp said.

Honest

It’s rare that you see a manager actually admit interest in a player in a press conference, but Klopp has been very open here.

Perhaps it’s because Carvalho is out of contract in the summer and a public declaration of interest could sway him towards joining the Reds, or perhaps it’s just because this is a very open secret at this point.

One thing is for sure though, Liverpool will be back in for Carvalho, but whether or not they land him remains to be seen.
