Arsenal are expected to be in for a new striker this summer as they aim to win their first Premier League title in over 20 years.

After failing to win the Premier League title yet again under Mikel Arteta, the Gunners are set to be in the market for additions to try and improve the strength in depth of the North London club.

HITC have reported that their top midfield target, Martin Zubimendi, is hesitant about moving to North London, which has led Arsenal to seek out alternatives.

Arsenal are understood to want a new forward this summer and have been keeping an eye on Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins, but HITC understands that deal may prove difficult.

Martinez an option

Lautaro Martinez has seemingly been linked with a move away from Inter Milan for a while now but the Argentine has always stayed loyal to the club.

After getting to the Champions League final last season, there was no surprise to see the brilliant centre-forward remain at the San Siro, for at least one more season.

Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta provided an update on the future of the Argentine, with the Italian side keen to reward the forward with a new contract.

“It’s not a concern, it’s negotiations,” Marotta said, “negotiations that represent typical dynamics of the world of football, especially at this stage of the season. Let’s start with an important consideration, which is that Lautaro has a great sense of belonging to this club, this city and he will help us in the negotiation with his agent.

“There is certainly no hurry, we will take it slowly, there are business priorities, in due course we will also address these issues, if we want to consider them as such, but not too much because they are ordinary situations”.

Martinez’s excellent season

In 33 Serie A games this season, the Argentine forward has netted an impressive 24 goals, whilst providing three assists.

Simone Inzaghi’s Inter stormed to the Serie A title as they finished 19 points clear of rivals AC Milan. Martinez has always been a consistent goal scorer for the Italian giants but he has become one of the best in Europe recently.

A summer move has always looked like a possibility, HITC have previously reported that Chelsea are interested in the Argentine, so Martinez is not short of Premier League suitors.
