Mikel Arteta has overseen a change at Arsenal in the form of improvements to the London Colney training ground.

According to Simon Collings of the Evening Standard, the Spaniard requested the installation of a giant TV screen next to the pitches at London Colney, which stands at roughly five metres tall.

It is used to play video clips during training sessions, and its arrival has coincided with the Gunners sitting top of the Premier League.

Arteta hunting for marginal gains at Arsenal

When up against Pep Guardiola and Manchester City, no stone can be left unturned by Arteta – he must attempt to find every marginal gain he can.

By the sounds of it, this particular alteration is working well for Arsenal.

The Evening Standard add that the installation of the TV screen has particularly helped the players when it comes to set-pieces.

Arsenal’s players are believed to have gained a better understanding of positioning as a result of the video clips during training, and it seems to be paying off after Sunday’s winner against Chelsea came from a corner.

Arsenal in good hands under Arteta

Attention to detail is key in the Premier League, where every game is a genuine battle.

Luckily for the Gunners, they have one of the most obsessive coaches around in Arteta, who now seems capable of overseeing a very special campaign for Arsenal.

You may argue that the addition of a giant TV screen is not exactly genius, but if Arsenal win the Premier League by the points gained from Sunday’s winning corner against Chelsea, it will have proved worthwhile.

After all, there is probably so much more happening that we don’t even know about.

For example, not many people are aware of how Guardiola divides the pitches up at the Manchester City training ground.

As you can see above, the Spaniard splits the pitch into segments, helping the players focus on what they need to do in specific areas.

Such attention to detail has won Guardiola countless titles over the years, and if Arteta can keep his key men fit, we see no reason why he can’t snatch the Premier League from the man he once assisted in Manchester.
