Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Harry Kane becoming the record goalscorer for Tottenham Hotspur during the Premier League match against Manchester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday evening.
Former Tottenham striker and BBC Match of the Day presenter Lineker believes that it is an incredible achievement of Kane to become the all-time leading goalscorer for Spurs.
Lord Sugar, a former Tottenham chairman, has also praised the England international striker on his achievement.
Kane found the back of the net for Tottenham against defending Premier League champions City in the 15th minute.
As reported by BBC Sport, it was the English striker’s 267th goal for Tottenham.
It was also Kane’s 200th goal in the Premier League.
The striker has now moved ahead of Jimmy Greaves to become Tottenham’s all-time top scorer.
Greaves, who started his career at Tottenham’s bitter London rivals, Chelsea, scored 266 goals in 379 games for Spurs between 1961 and 1970.
Kane has played 415 times for Tottenham.
Greaves is often regarded as the best English striker of all time.
Kane is certainly the best English striker right now.
We should not be surprised if Kane eventually ends up as the top scorer of all time in the Premier League, overtaking Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer.
