Alan Shearer has raved about Arsenal star Bukayo Saka on Match of the Day on BBC One for his performance against West Ham United in the London derby on Boxing Day.
The Newcastle United legend was impressed by Saka for stepping up in the absence of Gabriel Jesus and becoming a leader for Arsenal on the pitch at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal got the better of West Ham 3-1 in North London in the Premier League on Monday evening.
England international forward Saka scored for the Gunners in the 53rd minute.
The 21-year-old, who tends to start on the right of a front-three, was a constant problem for the Hammers’ defenders.
Jesus did not play for Arsenal due to injury problems, and Eddie Nketiah started as the number nine for the Gunners instead.
The former Leeds United loanee scored as well.
Saka has scored five goals and provided six assists in 15 Premier League appearances for Arsenal so far this season.
The forward has scored one goal in the UEFA Europa League for the Gunners so far this campaign.
