Chris Sutton has predicted on BBC Sport that Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur will lose against Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League this weekend.

Tottenham will lock horns with Newcastle in North London in the league on Sunday.

Former Chelsea striker Sutton believes that the Magpies will pick up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 2-1 win.

The BBC Sport pundit believes that Tottenham will need their goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to make the saves if they are to get anything from the match against Newcastle.

Sutton wrote: “I really like what Eddie Howe is doing at Newcastle. They are defensively sound, but they always create chances too and they are a team full of confidence.

“Tottenham have been getting some good results without playing particularly well, or at least they were until they went to Old Trafford on Wednesday.

“That defeat would have been worse if not for some good saves by Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris, and they might need him to keep him in this game too.

“Sutton’s prediction: 1-2.”

Who will win?

In our view, Tottenham Hotspur will fancy their chances winning against Newcastle United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League this weekend.

Yes, Spurs are not playing particularly well and lost to Manchester United in midweek, but head coach Antonio Conte will make sure that the players bounce back.

Newcastle are doing very well at the moment and appear to be in the race for the European places, but the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium faithful will be in full voice and will back their team from start to finish.
