Julian Nagelsmann is ‘in good spirits’ that reported Liverpool transfer target Serge Gnabry will agree to sign a new contract at Bayern Munich, but he will not get involved, via Kicker.
The FCB boss is confident that both the Bundesliga giants and German winger see a future together in Bavaria. But Nagelsmann feels discussions over any extension should be left to the 26-year-old’s agent and the Allianz Arena side. So, he will wait for any positive updates.
Gnabry is set to enter the final year of his existing deal at the end of the season. He is also not close to agreeing an extension, with Kicker reporting Bayern Munich are frustrating the 31-cap star by prioritising Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller and Manuel Neuer’s deals.

Additionally, Sky Germany claim Bayern Munich have not made Gnabry an offer anywhere close to his salary expectations. Which Defensa Central note is €15m-a-season (£243k-a/w) and FCB refuse to pay. Real Madrid will under no circumstances offer him that sum, either.
Los Blancos are one of the former Arsenal talent’s many admirers, but will not chase a deal at those figures. Likely why Bild report David Alaba is trying to convince his former Bayern Munich teammate and close friend, Gnabry, to now follow him to Real Madrid a year later.
Liverpool, Manchester United and Barcelona are also monitoring Gnabry’s discussions with Bayern Munich over a new contract, per Sky Germany. All three would look to enter a race for his services should his Bundesliga side continue to refuse presenting an improved offer.
Nagelsmann ‘in good spirits’ Liverpool target Gnabry will sign new Bayern deal
Gnabry will have his pick of some of Europe’s elite clubs if Bayern Munich have to accept a discount deal. He has 13 goals and nine assists after 36 games so far this season across all competitions. Three of his goals have come during FCB’s Champions League campaign.

But Nagelsmann expects the Allianz Arena hierarchy to eventually retain the Germany star.
“In the end, it’s a matter of negotiation between the club and the consultant,” said Nagelsmann. “But I’m in good spirits that we’ll get there on the green branch.”
