Speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Alan Shearer has been full of praise for Max Aarons amid links to Newcastle and Everton.

The full-back has been one of Norwich’s better players this term as the Canaries desperately fight against the threat of relegation, and inevitably, with the Championship beckoning, he’s been linked to other Premier League sides.

Shearer certainly believes that the 22-year-old has what it takes to cut it at the top level, claiming that he has a strong all-round game.

What’s been said?

Shearer spoke very highly of Aarons.

“Another right-back who has shown his attacking instincts in this campaign is Max Aarons. The 22-year-old has clocked up more minutes for Norwich than any other player, and he’s shown he has a strong all-round game. He leads the tacking table for the Canaries as well as being the player with the most successful dribbles. What’s also impressed me is his composure and strength. It’s been a tough season for Norwich, but Aarons has been one of their positives,” Shearer said.

Premier League player

Whether or not Norwich are in the top-flight next season remains to be seen, but it’s fairly likely that Aarons will be there in any case.

As Shearer says, this is a player who is brilliant at the back and he’s also solid going forward, so he’d be a real asset for a number of Premier League clubs.

Norwich may well go down this season, but Aarons should have a route to preserving his Premier League career if they do.
