Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson was in action for Brazil against Colombia in a 2026 World Cup qualifier.

Alisson started for Brazil in place of Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson, and the Liverpool star’s performance has been hailed in the media.

So, what is being said about Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson and Brazil? Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson started for Brazil against Colombia in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification (CONMEBOL) campaign.

Alisson started for the South American giants in the absence of Ederson. The Manchester City goalkeeper suffered a foot injury against Chelsea in the Premier League and had to pull out from the Brazil squad.

Although Brazil lost 2-1 to Colombia, Alisson could not be blamed for the goals. The £150,000-a-week (Spotrac) goalkeeper was one of the best players for his team, as he made a number of saves and prevented a loss by a bigger margin.

Goal gave Alisson 8 out of 10 and noted: “Made numerous important saves in Ederson’s absence. Couldn’t do anything about Diaz’s goals. Could have been 4-1 without him.”

Liverpool and Brazil goalkeeper Alisson is world class

In my opinion, Liverpool and Brazil international goalkeeper Alisson is one of the best players on the planet and is world class.

The 31-year-old has been superb for Liverpool over the years and has been one of the big reasons why Jurgen Klopp’s side have been able to compete with Manchester City.

Alisson is brilliant at shot-stopping and is a huge presence between the posts. The former AS Roma goalkeeper is one of the best in one-v-one situations and is also brilliant with his feet.

The Liverpool goalkeeper has made 185 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. Alisson has kept 82 clean sheets, has scored one goal, and has given three assists.
