Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has praised Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson.
Eddie Howe has said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:26pm, August 27, 2023) that Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson made one of the best saves that he has ever seen live against his Newcastle United team at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Sunday.
Liverpool came from a goal down to beat Newcastle 2-1 away from home today.
Former Everton winger Anthony Gordon put the Magpies in the lead in the 25th minute.
Netherlands international central defender Virgil van Dijk was sent off just three minutes later, as Liverpool were reduced to 10 men.
Darwin Nunez came on as a substitute in the second half and scored two goals to pick up all three points for Liverpool.
The Uruguay international striker was brilliant after coming on, and he is deservedly getting all the headlines.

However, there was another hero for Liverpool against Newcastle at St. James’ Park.
Alisson.

The Brazil international is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and has been superb for Liverpool over the years.
The 30-year-old has been consistently good for several years now and remains at the top of his game.
And he was superb against the Magpies.
Among the many saves that Alisson had to pull off against Newcastle was one against Miguel Almiron in the 36th minute.
Almiron volleyed the ball perfectly on goal.
It was hit with power and accuracy.
But Alisson was equal to it, as the Brazilian kept it out with two hands while diving.
It was a truly stunning save that not many goalkeepers would have been able to pull off.
And Newcastle manager Howe was impressed.
Howe said: “The goalkeeper made one of the best saves I have seen live, from Almiron.”
