The boyhood Rangers fan left Ibrox four years ago and looks set to sign for Old Firm rivals Celtic.

A player rumoured to be signing for Celtic in the January transfer window has already turned down two Parkhead approaches – one in favour of a move to Rangers, having grown up supporting the Ibrox side.
The Scottish Herald reported on Wednesday that Celtic are set to tie up a £300,000 deal for the player in question, St Mirren winger Lewis Morgan.

And should the Bhoys get their man, it would signal the end of a long-running pursuit.
According to the Scottish Sun, Morgan was scouted by both Celtic and Rangers before opting to sign for the latter club’s academy as a youngster.
He told the tabloid: “I was a massive Rangers fan and had a season ticket at Ibrox, so there wasn’t really a decision to make when it came to who I chose to sign for!”

Undeterred, Celtic are said to have tried again for Morgan – who is pictured by the Scottish Sun as Rangers’ mascot at the 2009 League Cup final, which the Bhoys won 2-0 – after his decision to quit his boyhood heroes in 2013, but were left empty handed once more.
He added: “Rather than go to Celtic, me and my dad decided it would be best to go to a smaller club, and with St Mirren being the closest, that made it easier.”
The Bhoys’ persistence looks set to finally pay off.
